I booked through booking, then contacted Giancarlo to ask about the property. Right away, he suggested booking without booking, saying I could save money by paying under the table. I canceled my booking to avoid complications, but that was only the start of the trouble. He said the room I’d reserved for €40 a night had an outside bathroom shared with others. I later found photos, and those facilities looked like latrines. When I asked for a private bathroom, the price jumped to €66 for lodging only, with no breakfast. I accepted because I had visits with nearby friends planned. I asked to pay when I arrived, 15 days later, but he wanted a deposit. I said I’d transfer half the amount the following Monday. He replied that he’d only hold the room once the money arrived, and couldn’t guarantee it on Monday. It was Tuesday, so I called my bank immediately, arranged a transfer for two days later, and sent him proof of the instruction. He still said he’d reserve the room only after the money was in his account. The photos on Google are vague, and I had no way to see the place or the rooms. His behavior seemed strange to me. When I told him it felt like he was acting as if he were doing me a favor, he irritably said the room was no longer available. After that, he stopped answering both calls and messages. Draw your own conclusions. Absolutely no seriousness. Think carefully before booking with this pagl....

We left as soon as we got there at 11 PM, even though we’d paid the owner in advance for two of our four nights. He’d insisted on the under-the-table payment, but we’d rather lose the money than risk getting sick. The bathrooms were like stadium latrines, and it was a total nightmare. At 70 euros a night, a bed with a smelly mattress and a pillow with fleas is unacceptable. Don’t stay in this dump.

The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, and we had a wonderful stay. This is a small, peaceful campsite tucked into the hills, a good place to unwind away from the busy city and seaside. The facilities are basic but fit the reasonable prices: very hot showers, shady pitches, and a play area for kids. There’s also a big awning overlooking a magnificent valley, with three hammocks and two tables for meals when it rains. It makes a good starting point for trips to the Frasassi and Rossa Gorges, bike rides, or visits to nearby cities with art and culture. It really matched what we expect from camping, and we’ll come back next time we’re in the Marche.
