Hotel Zum Turm

The food was nice, but overpriced for what it was. Dinner felt uncomfortable, rushed, and unwelcoming, with service that was very abrupt and rude, especially if you aren't German. I wouldn't recommend it or come back.

We had dinner out on the patio, where fresh ingredients and good flavor came through in every dish. The atmosphere and great service made the meal even better.

On a quiet Monday evening, my family and I tried to get a table. There were lots of visibly empty tables and the restaurant seemed slow, but the staff abruptly told us it was fully booked and wouldn't seat anyone else that evening. I'm an American tourist and had run into similar situations at other places during my trip, so I wondered whether a language barrier was part of it. It felt like things might have gone differently if we'd spoken Italian. I left feeling unfairly judged and deceived by the staff.

Our room was spacious and clean, with a nice balcony overlooking the city centre. The location in Castelrotto is very central and well connected to major ski and hiking destinations. The breakfast was exceptional, with lots of choices and freshly baked cakes. The staff were professional and incredibly kind. The lady at reception even helped carry our luggage and baby things up to the room.
