Palazzo 1892

Really great.

Castelvetere and the surrounding area are a bit remote, but a great fit if you enjoy quiet, nature, historic districts, hiking, cycling, or motorcycling. I’d happily return. The Palazzo 1892 itself is an impressive building, restored beautifully a few years ago. Our stay over Easter was pleasantly quiet, and the service was courteous. The room and bathroom were especially spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the balcony had a panoramic view. Breakfast was more than generous by Italian standards, and the price-performance ratio was excellent. :-)

There was almost nobody around to help during the day, and the place could be better organized. We stayed with my family for two days over New Year's Eve. At checkout, they wouldn’t accept credit cards, despite the information saying practically any card could be used. The very kind lady didn’t know how to operate the card machine, so I had to pay cash and was left with very little. Then a huge party on a lower floor kept playing loud music until 5 in the morning, ruining my family’s sleep. Places where people go to sleep should be quiet after a certain hour. It’s the only half-decent place to stay around there, though.

The owners were very kind and welcoming, and breakfast was generous for a reasonable price. The rooms were clean and the bathroom decent. It’s a bit out of the way, but I’d recommend staying here.
