Hotel Garden Beach

The villas are quite small, though the cleaners were efficient and changed our towels, made the beds, and cleaned the room daily. The gardens are beautiful, as are the beach and pools. Getting around was the hard part. The location is remote, and adequate bus service doesn’t start until June, so a car is really needed. We went with Love Holidays, but they didn’t explain how far the resort was from Cagliari. Taxis cost a lot, and excursions are pricey and only run when enough people want to go. Food quality varied, especially at breakfast. One evening the buffet had plenty of choices, another there was hardly anything, regardless of when we arrived. That’s not what I expect from a four-star hotel.

The gardens around the hotel were lovely, and the location deserves five stars. The beach is perfect and only a few minutes from the rooms. Rooms are simple, a good size, and very clean, with a strong shower and excellent air conditioning. They looked recently decorated. Staff were friendly, and the bar made really good drinks, especially the Aperol spritz and gin and tonic. Food at the beach bar was basic, but breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were pretty good, with plenty of dinner choices. All in all, a good hotel that lives up to its name. I’d recommend it and stay again.

I wouldn’t recommend it. When I stayed two years ago, the room was the dirtiest I’d seen in a hotel, and the toilet door was broken. The food was awful too. Even the pasta with tomato sauce wasn’t tasty, and I don’t know how they managed that.

We stopped in for lunch, but the welcome was so rude that we left.
