Lo Chalet

For a first visit to Presolana, Hotel Milano was a lovely experience. We stayed in the Chalet, a traditional mountain-style building from the 1950s beside the main hotel. The rooms aren’t modern, but they have what you need. Staff were attentive and welcoming, and cleaned and tidied our room daily. They provided a bathrobe, towels, slippers, a courtesy set, and a hairdryer. The room was very warm and spacious, with a small terrace. It feels more like a four-star stay than a three-star one, and the value for the price was excellent. The central location is 5-6 km from the ski slope at Monte Pora. I’d gladly return, and appreciated the kindness and care. The one drawback was noise from the stairs. During our stay we only occasionally heard a door open or close at night, fortunately.

The main hotel building is beautiful and well kept, breakfast is generous, and the dining room staff were kind and helpful. But we were put in the Chalet, where we found several problems, especially concerning during COVID. The bathroom dispensers and toilet paper had already been used. Brown water came from the sink for the first ten minutes after we arrived, and its cap was broken, so it wouldn’t drain. The rooms had no soundproofing at all, and we couldn’t sleep. Some furniture was broken and the bathroom tiles were cracked. We had to move to another property, and there was no price reduction for all the problems. I don’t like leaving negative reviews and usually try to see things from the hosts’ side, even when I’m paying, so I’ll leave the facts at that.
