I meant to book hotel Prati in Rome but chose the wrong hotel. When I realized my mistake that same day, they kindly approved a refund. Their flexibility and exceptional service meant I could still enjoy my stay in Rome. Thank you.

We were an English couple over 70, driving a hired Fiat Panda, when the terrible floods hit Marche Region on 16 May 2023. On the morning of Wednesday the 17th, we were heading home via Bologna airport. We were diverted from the Autostrada at Rimini Nord into floods and traffic chaos, and although we made it to Forli, every road was cut before Imola. With nowhere to stay, we found all the hotels in Forli were full. An hotelier suggested Hotel Prati in the hills. In complete darkness, a kind Italian couple guided us by car to town. The Prati family owners welcomed us and gave us a comfortable room for the night. There were power cuts and sadly no food rescue, but they gave us hot drinks and Bendy, and made us feel very welcome. In the morning, their daughter kindly translated for us and explained how to get back down the mountain to Forli. It felt like a very Italian family response to people in trouble, and we were deeply grateful. Later we reached the airport via Ravenna, with a local young man guiding us through the flooded lowlands. We can't praise the Prati Family enough for helping us in our hour of need. Our heartfelt thanks also go to the kind people of Forli, who helped us so much while they were badly affected by the floods themselves. We hope to come back one day and try the food.
