A Due Passi B&B

We had to cancel and find somewhere else after being told by text that the water problem was fixed, when there still wasn’t any running water. There was also nobody on site to contact. Unacceptable.

The hospitality was top notch. My sheets and towels were changed every day without me asking, the room was cleaned daily, and it was back in order each night when I returned. It’s close to Castello Ursino on a busy street, and what I paid for my seven-day stay was more than worth it.

Great location, and the room and bathroom are both big. Good stay overall, with just a few small things that could be improved.

The room had hairs left by the previous guest in the bathroom, and I found a used spoon wrapped in paper under the bed. Towels and bedding were changed twice in seven days, even though I hadn’t asked, and fresh sheets were put on the bed only one day before I left. There was dirt everywhere outside the door. I’ve rarely had such a bad stay, with grime and noise at this level. Breakfast was part of my booking, but all I got was a voucher about the size of a business card for the nearest bar. Each day I could get a coffee drink and a sweet, and had to sit right on the sidewalk beside the traffic, with car noise and exhaust. That didn’t feel like breakfast to me and was worth €3 at most. In the room, the noise went on well past midnight and started up again at 2 a.m. The shutters wouldn’t close. With the windows open or shut, exhaust fumes stayed out, but the noise didn’t. The bathroom had no toilet paper, so I had to buy some, and there was no toilet seat. I had to sit on bare ceramic, which I found disgusting. The owners of the B&B argued until well after midnight on my last night, slamming doors and moving things around in the hallway. They clearly didn’t seem to consider their guests. The tiny TV was no bigger than a laptop and had only about 14 Italian shopping and news channels, so I couldn’t watch the news or anything similar in the rain or in the evening. I can’t understand the 3-star rating. I wouldn’t recommend this place or come back.
