Etna Catania Center

The rooms were so dirty and smelled so horrific that we couldn't stand to be in them. The bedspreads and towels were dirty too. We booked two rooms for four nights with our friends and asked for private bathrooms. When we arrived, only one room had a bathroom inside; the other one was out in the hallway. We accepted that, but left after 30 minutes because of the condition of the rooms. We demanded our money back, then found out the owner had charged the card directly instead of taking payment through the Booking.com app. We had to haggle to get our own money back, and even then the owner only agreed to refund two nights, saying that's all they could do. Terrible experience. I do not recommend it.

The place was very clean, with air conditioning and electric window blinds in the rooms. Depending on which room you choose, the private bathroom may be inside or outside, and you can see Etna from some rooms. It's a great place to stay, though it was a bit loud next to one of the main streets. It also felt quite far from the city center or old town. Getting around would be much better by car or bike than by public transport.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful when we checked in. Absolutely the best option in this price range :)
