A great quick-bites shop is right next door, where locals shop and you can get Sicilian food for a low price. The host is nice and very helpful, and speaks some English. The place is close to the historic center, and the rooms have AC. There are two clean shared bathrooms, including one washing machine, for four rooms. There’s also a clean shared kitchen with equipment, plus free coffee and tea. I was able to leave my baggage at the hotel before check-in after asking the day before. Great value for money.

One of my worst stays. I didn’t feel very safe here because of the host’s personality and attitude, and because he roamed the halls yelling. He seemed unhinged and extorted me for more money to “support his 3 kids” because I brought a girl back late at night, even though she left early in the morning. He looks for excuses to charge you more and won’t honor what you actually booked.

I’d recommend staying here. I was there for three nights and, after booking through Booking.com, wasn’t sure what to expect. It turned out to basically be an apartment converted into rentable rooms. Breakfast wasn’t advertised on Booking.com, so no one can complain about being scammed over it. The guest was very welcoming and kind, and the place was spotless, fresh-smelling, and felt kind of like home. There’s a great candy and pastry shop literally next door. The ceilings are high, which should help keep it cool in hot weather. The beds are quite small but comfortable, with enough blankets. The city is easy to reach, and the airport is an hour’s walk away. Penny Market, Lidl, and other shops are about 15-20 minutes away, with lots of cafes around. There’s a little street noise coming through the gate, but nothing awful. Since it’s an apartment, the doors don’t block hallway sounds. The other guests were all right, so that’s more something to keep in mind than a real downside. Thanks for a comfortable stay!

The hosts were very nice, and breakfast is included in the room rate. Check-in and check-out were super flexible, and you get your own set of keys for both the house and the apartment. The mattresses are firm, the linens are clean, and so are the rest of the apartment and the bathroom facilities.
