B&B Turiddu

The view from our room was unreal, with the whole city and Etna spread out in front of us. Vincenzo was a fantastic host, full of useful tips about getting around and what to see. Breakfast each morning was a treat, with fresh fruit, bread and other things, and the rooms were spacious and had what we needed for a comfortable stay. Everything was spotless, and the cleaning staff kept the whole place smelling fresh. We could walk to the main sights, markets and shops, and the bus and train stations were only about a kilometer away. It was a great base for a few days in Catania and exploring eastern Sicily. I'd happily come back.

Vincenzo and his father were really helpful. They stored our luggage and arranged a taxi to the airport. The B&B was very good value, with a spacious, comfortable room, effective air conditioning and a nice bathroom. The pillows smelled quite musty, though. We were at the end of the corridor and didn't have noise from the other rooms. Breakfast came in generous portions and had a good range, mostly sweet items. The place is near the train station, but the neighborhood isn't especially nice, with busy roads and litter around. The historic center is still only a 10-15 minute walk away.

The host was nice, but our room had an insane number of mosquitoes. It was a real nightmare, and the location felt rather shady.

The staff were good and the location worked well, but noise was a serious issue. Breakfast starts at 8, and the rooms are near the entrance where everyone gathers to eat, so you'll definitely hear it. They also clean the rooms early in the morning, and do it very loudly. If you want to sleep in, forget it.
