BB Palazzo Tornabene

There was water, coffee, and tea in the hallway, and the small room was clean. We lost internet on our last day while I still had things to finish on my laptop, but I guess that can happen. We loved our time in Catania and might stay here again if we return. It's a great area to stay in.

We've stayed at few places in Italy as good as this one, and we'll definitely come back. The young couple hosting do a wonderful job keeping guests comfortable and telling them about nearby sights.

Our host was friendly, easy to reach, and helpful. He stayed later for us and other guests beyond the usual check-in hours, as long as you let him know beforehand. When the showerhead fell because its handle unexpectedly gave way, he replaced it straight away at no cost. I also hadn't noticed the agreed towel-change schedule, which was my fault, but he changed them anyway without charging, even though I offered to pay. The B&B was easy to spot thanks to its huge entrance door. It's in a lively little corner near Piazza del Duomo, with some great restaurants nearby. Our bedroom was clean, spacious enough, and had a small fridge. Breakfast included different sliced meats, a real bonus we appreciated after our 14-day trip around Sicily. There were a couple of drawbacks. The shower was quite cramped, with mineral buildup around the showerhead, and definitely too small for two people. We later found that small showers seemed common in B&Bs across Sicily. Our room was right behind the desk, so we heard a lot of conversations while trying to rest. Italians do like to chat.

The owner even came with me to the nearest guarded parking lot and paid one of the "parking assistance" beggars so they wouldn't damage my car. The place was exceptionally clean, and everyone was more than polite. Best B&B I've ever stayed at, highly recommend it.
