The entrance door needs a gentle hand: if it swings shut, it slams loudly enough to set off the neighborhood dogs and maybe wake babies. Please ease it closed. The apartment sits up a short flight of stairs, and some walking routes around Catania may be difficult for anyone with mobility limits. One key also controls the electricity, which caught us by surprise, though that seems more common in Italy than in the USA. We had a really comfortable few days at Dimora del Papa this summer. The apartment was cozy, well cared for, and felt like home. Giuseppe was welcoming and accommodating, and shared lots of useful local tips. We tried a nearby restaurant on his recommendation and loved it.

We had a great three-night stay at la Dimora del Papa. The owners communicated quickly, and check-in was easy. Their restaurant recommendations were excellent. The apartment was very spacious and clean, with a good shower, plenty of room, and strong water pressure. It's right by Catania's main sights and surrounded by lovely places to eat. We took day trips and found free parking on the same street each day.

We only stayed one night, but this charming apartment turned out to be a lovely find. It's in the centre, so we could walk to the historic area and nearby sights without needing to travel around. Everything we needed was there, including kitchen utensils, and the furnishings and finishes felt carefully chosen. The host was attentive and handled our requests really well. We'd gladly return, and I'd recommend Dimora del Papa to anyone wanting a pleasant stay in Catania's historic centre.
