The room is small but adequate, and there's a kitchenette in the shared area. It's clean and might help with weight loss. For a short stay, I recommend it, and I can't fault the place itself. Getting in is the downside. It's on what I think is the second floor, and the elevator didn't look reliable, so we took the stairs. Hauling a big suitcase up took some effort. It may not suit people with mobility difficulties or wheelchair users. In my opinion the neighborhood, like much of Catania, isn't especially pretty. There isn't free parking nearby either. Still, I'd recommend it for a short visit, perhaps just after arriving in Catania. 👌🏻

It's a pretty good base for exploring eastern Sicily, though coming back from the centre or bus station takes some effort 😂. We had the bed and breakfast option at two nearby cafes. If I remember right, one was Pasticceria Sottile. Each person could choose two sweet or savoury rolls, plus coffee or tea. The room was small, but fine if you're only there to wash up and sleep. We looked onto the courtyard, which meant less traffic noise at night. During the day, though, I got the impression there was a nursery on the first floor, because we could hear lots of children crying and playing in the courtyard. If it was warm at night, the air conditioning blew straight onto the bed. The room and bathroom had what we needed for a short getaway. Staff communication was pretty good over WhatsApp or Booking, where we made the reservation.

Staff were very friendly, and it was excellent value for money. This is a small B&B with just two rooms in a renovated apartment, furnished with brand new things. Both rooms have balconies, one facing the street and the other the inner courtyard. The rusty clotheslines on the balcony were a shame. It's on the second floor and has an elevator, though the steps at the main entrance could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues.

We felt very comfortable with Luigi last week. He's an excellent, friendly host who was always there if we needed anything. I highly recommend him. -Irina
