The tenement house itself didn't look very inviting or exclusive, but once we crossed the hostel doorway it felt like a very good 4-star hotel. The place seems to have only three rooms, and everything was clean, tidy and beautifully renovated in good taste. Our room had a refrigerator, a dryer, clean towels, a set of tools and a small balcony inside the tenement house. In the guest common room there was a microwave, basic tableware like glasses, cups and cutlery, and the means to make coffee or tea. Italian breakfast pastries and muffins were included in the accommodation price. The location was fantastic, only 7 minutes' walk from the station. We really enjoyed our time at Hearts City Room and in Catania.

Check-in was a bit late for us. After a day of travelling, it would have been nice to get into our room sooner, but access wasn't possible until 5pm. The rooms themselves were lovely, clean and modern, with a shared dining area and plenty of snacks, tea and coffee left out for guests. I didn't meet the host or owner. We handled all communication through WhatsApp, and the financial exchanges were done via an app.

We stayed for 3 days, and the place was peaceful and safe at an affordable price. The location is hard to beat: 7-10 minutes from Stazione and the airport bus stop, and 10-15 minutes on foot to the city center. Claudio sent us all the information and was available 24 hour via WhatsApp. He patiently answered my numerous questions about the best cannoli, beaches in Taormina with showers, where to eat and what to see. He also recommended the awesome family restaurant just around the corner, I Moschettieri. The lobster pasta was to die for. The room was modern, comfortable and impeccably clean. The bathroom was excellent, with lots of free amenities including a teeth set, and finally we found a place with proper water pressure. The common lounge had tea and coffee facilities and sweets.
