Palazzo degli Affreschi

The host was incredibly helpful and even let us check in early, which was so kind. The location is perfect, within walking distance of loads of restaurants. Our room was gorgeous, very clean, and had comfortable beds. The only issue was the air conditioning couldn't keep up with the summer heat, and the room never got below 26°, so sleeping was uncomfortable.

I stayed with a group of friends. The outside of the building doesn't say much, but inside the rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and feel like works of art, with something to suit any needs. We got directions and tips on places to visit. Breakfast was enough to get us going, though I'd swap the ham for mortadella any time 😀. Congrats!

The room was large, with a ceiling fresco that gave it an elegant touch. Staff were friendly, the location is great, and it's a five-minute walk to Piazza Duomo. Breakfast wasn't abundant, but it was good.

I had three rooms booked four months in advance, with their confirmation email, and they had my credit card details. The email even said they couldn't wait to welcome us to Catania. But when I arrived to check in, I was told there was no reservation and they were fully booked. I showed them the email signed by the owner, and the response was that it had been made too long ago and something must have gone wrong. It seems they have no system for tracking rooms and reservations, and they should not be in the service industry if they're going to create such major problems for guests. Eventually they could only put me in a house 17 minutes' drive from Catania. The tour I'd arranged for my group in Catania fell apart because of the mess they'd created. They also accused me of being upset and rude. The loss this caused me, with my clients so upset, is irreparable. In over 20 years of leading small groups, I've never been treated with such a lack of professionalism. Please think twice before booking here.
