They knew we’d be arriving close to 8 pm and replied, “Ok, thanks,” but nobody came for check-in. We called several times and waited more than half an hour outside the building. In the end we booked somewhere else, then got an email saying we hadn’t shown up and were being charged for the room. They never called us back. The staff seemed incompetent and intent on making easy money. You can find a better place for the same price pretty quickly.

We were robbed during our stay this week. I’d left cash, almost 150 euros, in the wardrobe among my clothes. A few days later it was gone, with no sign of a break-in, so I suspect someone with a key took it. The service had assured us the apartment was safe, but nobody came to help afterward. Valerina, who lived in the apartment, didn’t answer my calls and replied to WhatsApp only after a long delay. She never called to discuss what happened. When I asked if I should go to the police, she agreed, even though she knew we wouldn’t get the money back. Their response felt unprofessional, and I was disappointed that nobody helped us as guests. We left Catania with a very unpleasant experience. The apartment also smelled damp, the furniture was falling apart, and the portal photos looked about ten years old.

The quality was very poor. We were given different rooms from the ones we booked, there was no breakfast, the air conditioning caused problems, and there were many other failures.

A pleasant place to stay at a good price.
