The apartment had some good points: it was close to the center of Catania, parking was fairly easy to find, the beds were comfortable, the AC worked well, and the kitchen was good. But the condition was awful. There were broken tiles in the bathroom and shower, mold there and elsewhere in the apartment, a shower that wouldn’t drain, a bad smell, and a generally dirty look. Noise from the neighboring restaurant kitchens was loud too. Reviews had mentioned the same problems for up to two years. I’m lucky my wife didn’t leave me over this stay. It reminded me to read the negative reviews and not rely on the average score.

I’ve seen the bad Google reviews, but my experience dealing with Smile's Home was flawless. The owner was willing to help with everything. I recommend getting in touch and discussing any concerns with them.

SCAM!!! We booked and paid online, then called the host and found out there was no apartment. He hung up and left us with nowhere to go.

Smile'a Home was an excellent place to stay in Catania. It’s modern, well furnished, and has all the comforts, including air conditioning and a fully equipped kitchen. The central location makes it easy to visit Piazza del Duomo and other nearby attractions. The WiFi was excellent, and it was quiet too. Highly recommended!

The owner, Antonio, was kind and helpful, made sure we had everything we needed, and met every request. The house was beautiful and spacious, smartly designed, and easy to get in and out of. It’s near all the attractions, including the cathedral, fish market, and Piazza Duomo. I’ve read the earlier reviews and can confirm renovations have been done. I finally found the house I was looking for in Catania, and I’ll definitely return. Thank you, Antonio, you really are a great host.
