The neighborhood is peaceful, though the nearby dogs can bark in the mornings. The apartment was clean and had what we needed, including two bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas, and access to a washing machine outside. The owners were friendly and quick to sort out anything that wasn't working. We don't speak Italian, but managed with Google Translate. Their son speaks good English and was someone we could contact if anything came up. There's a bus stop close by, though service is infrequent and only one route runs, so having a rental car is more practical. The beach takes about 8-10 minutes to walk to. It isn't especially clean, but is acceptable by local standards, usually uncrowded, and its shallow water suits less confident swimmers. Towels and bed linen cost extra, 30€ for a set for two, and the city tax is 2€ per person per night.

We had a lovely stay, and I'll be back soon. The house has a cozy feel and a little outdoor area where you can barbecue with friends. The sea is nearby, and Catania center is about 15 minutes away by public transport. Both owners, father and son, were fantastic and always available.

Being surrounded by nature was lovely, and the sea is just a five-minute walk away. A wonderful location...
