Hotel D'annunzio

Top notch.

The breakfast was the standout for me: high quality, lots of choice, and plenty of it. The room was clean, tidy, and clearly kept in great shape. A very welcoming hotel and a genuinely relaxing stay. I’d recommend it!

Room 23 was small and basic, but it had a lovely balcony with wallpaper showing the port towards Gabicce. The bathroom seemed almost new and, best of all, had a window. There was a mini-fridge under the desk that could hold eight half-liter bottles of water, and every room had air conditioning and a ceiling fan. We had such a wonderful time that I’d give more than five stars if I could. The breakfast was amazing, with cured meats, homemade desserts, eggs to cook, scrambled eggs with sausage, and a Romagna-style ring cake with Nutella. The people of Romagna really know how to welcome you. We picked this hotel for our vacation and were glad we did. On August 15th, there was a lovely aperitif at their Hotel Nord Est, and all of us were invited. D'Annunzio guests can also use Hotel Nord Est's swimming pool, gym, sauna, solarium, and bicycles. We’ll definitely be back next year. When you feel good somewhere, you return. Always.

The room was the main disappointment. There was a lot of dust under the bed and on the bedside tables, wardrobe, and headboard, plus hairs throughout the room and bathroom, including on the toilet and bidet. The toilet paper was already used and nearly gone when we arrived, and the toilet didn’t look clean or sanitized. A lingering smoke smell made the non-smoking room unpleasant as soon as we walked in. The room also looked worn and dated, unlike other rooms we saw while they were being cleaned, which appeared recently renovated. The warped front door let light in from the corridor and didn’t block sound well. The Booking page photos didn’t faithfully show the room we were given and set a very different expectation. There were some good points: breakfast was plentiful and varied, with options for different tastes, and the staff were consistently polite and helpful. The location was quiet and well connected, with parking about a five-minute walk away. The property also has an arrangement with a partner hotel offering a pool, gym, free bike rental, and a panoramic terrace. I didn’t get to use everything, but I liked the terrace as a place to relax.
