Hotel Ginevra

The room was the reason for our visit turning sour. My wife's mom had booked it for us, but after a quick phone call with the owner, we were told at reception to pay for the whole stay straight away. Once inside, we found a grimy, sticky room, with a moldy, rusty shower and a fridge that smelled bad. It felt like a rat's burrow. A shabby, badly assembled bunk bed stood right next to the table, so you practically didn't need to get up to eat. The three guest photos on Booking showed exactly what we found, though only the reception is put on display. The owners are thugs. Check the room before paying, because you won't get your money back, and the owner will twist things and cover up two reviews on the website. For the same or a better price, you can get a room at the International hotel, which I highly recommend.

The area was a highlight of my trip. Cattolica and Gabicce Mare are beautiful coastal towns, and I found the ancient sites at Gradara, Urbino, and Ravenna surprisingly quiet, with only a handful of visitors. People around Gabicce and Rimini Province were very friendly to Americans and patient while using Google Translate. Il Bacio Gradara was spectacular for a meal. I had a great eight-night stay at Hotel Ginevra, where my double room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, with effective A/C and a small fridge. Antonio and his staff were welcoming, attentive, and hospitable. Breakfast pastries, juice, croissants, and cappuccino or coffee were delicious. They made Cattolica feel like a home away from home. The hotel isn't fancy, but I highly recommend it. Italy is worth visiting, and these spots are amazing, mind-blowing places off the beaten path. Carpe Diem!!!!!

The room was comfortable, tidy, and clean, with a decent-sized bathroom. Ours wasn't especially large, but that was a minor point. Dogs are welcome, which is a real plus, and breakfast was satisfying for this kind of property. Hotel Ginevra is close to the beach and right by the well-known Viale Dante. Viky, the owner, was lovely and helpful, always ready to take care of guests' needs. The courtesy of the owner and staff comes through in the whole place. A positive stay, and I'd recommend it. There's a lot of potential here. Keep it up.

The concert we came to Cattolica for, Gabbani, was postponed, but our one-night stay was still lovely. The hotel was spotless, and we were welcomed warmly. Breakfast was excellent, especially the cappuccino. Thanks for the great hospitality. We'll definitely come back.
