Hotel Plaza

The friendly staff and close walk to the beach were the main positives. There is a pool, though we stayed only three days and didn't get to use it. Our basic economy room was the cheapest option we could find with August prices being so high. The food was good, but the buffet and dessert choices were limited. Nights were noisy, with barking dogs, alarms, and loud TVs from nearby rooms. A dog next door barked insistently through the night, and so did one in the room across the way. We were lucky to have a short visit, because otherwise we wouldn't have been able to rest.

Breakfast had plenty of choice, sweet and savory, with tasty homemade cakes in different varieties. The new pool was beautiful, with loungers, umbrellas, and deck chairs, and reception had colorful swim caps if you forgot yours. I stayed a couple of days and found the owners warm, kind, and helpful. The staff, especially the young people, were friendly and always smiling. Great value for money. Thanks so much for the hospitality, highly recommended!

Mrs. Paola was especially kind and helpful, and the whole staff were friendly. We felt at home right away during our two-night stay. The rooms were a good size and very clean, and the food was excellent, compliments to the chef. The hotel is well placed for getting around, with parking available, and the Catolica Aquarium is only a five-minute walk away and very beautiful. I discovered Catolica and loved it, so I'll definitely return to the Plaza Hotel. My one suggestion would be a mini-fridge in the room, useful for keeping water cold for people who need to take medication. It's a simple, very clean hotel with helpful staff, excellent food, and a strategic location.

Breakfast was a daily treat, with fresh bread, regional specialties, homemade food, and attentive hosts who would accommodate requests. They could often find a solution even outside normal breakfast hours. The hotel is in a quiet spot but only a short walk from the main sights, restaurants, and shops. On request, they can offer personal tips for trips and restaurants that aren't in guidebooks. The rooms were bright, very clean, and thoughtfully furnished, with cozy bedding and small decorative touches. I was especially impressed by how peaceful it was, which made for deep, restful sleep. What made my stay was the host family's warmth. They greeted guests with real smiles, and I never felt like an anonymous visitor. The owners and staff were attentive without being pushy, whether at reception, in the dining room, or just passing in the hall. A friendly word in the morning or a quick check that you need nothing more made a difference. Their kindness felt heartfelt, and the sense of being welcome stayed with me after leaving. Hotel Plaza Cattolicia felt like a home away from home. I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who values a family atmosphere, warm service, and personal attention. For me, it's five stars, and I'd give it twice that if I could.
