Kefa Residence

We stayed in both the Captain and Fisherman apartments, part of KEFA HOLIDAYS. The photos online made them look far better than they were. Both places smelled, felt neglected, and were uncomfortable. We had no working air conditioning or TV, and Wi-Fi was advertised but unavailable. Our phones had no reception inside. The power kept cutting out because the two apartments shared one meter. The beds were very uncomfortable, with old-fashioned blankets.

I was disappointed by the stay. There was no hot water, and the garbage toilet wasn’t emptied. We also had no WiFi unless we left the hotel, and no network or WiFi to contact anyone about problems. The response was to tell us to join the young people at the pool, but nobody took action. Although the pool is supposed to close at 7:00 PM, people were partying there from 3:00 AM until 7:00 AM, with no supervision. The listing said there was no air conditioning, so we had to sleep with the window open, and the noise made it impossible to rest.

Getting our suitcases to this place was a struggle. It’s in a restricted traffic zone, so we paid 12 euros a day for parking, then had to haul our bags along the seafront over cobblestones that could damage them. Inside, everything was crammed into one tiny room: a kitchenette, bathroom, entryway, closet, and sofa bed, leaving hardly any space to move. We were promised a double bed but got a sofa bed barely big enough for one, with such a thin mattress that we slept on the metal frame. The shower was too narrow to turn around in, and its head was covered in limescale. The narrow spiral staircase made carrying the luggage difficult, and we were afraid of falling and getting hurt. For that price, offering a space like this as a room, with all those amenities packed in, makes no sense.

The pool was right beside our apartment, with a lifeguard on duty, but it was meant to close at 7 pm. Instead, people partied there from 3 am until 7 am, and with the air conditioning broken, we had to keep the bedroom window open and couldn’t sleep. We were traveling with a child, and there was no hot water for a shower the whole stay. There was no Wi-Fi either. I contacted the property the next day, but they wouldn’t do anything. To make matters worse, the garbage bag in the common room still had the previous guests’ belongings in it. Renting apartments in this condition is shameful. I’d avoid the place.
