This was a very good option for a short or medium-length stay. It's a mini resort of several separate flats around a shared yard. The one-room apartment was very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen, its own terrace, free parking and self check-in. Communication with the owner was excellent and prompt, and they were flexible: earlier check-in was possible, and we were given two bottles of water. We could use bicycles for free, with the beach a 10 minute ride away. The price-to-value ratio was excellent, at least off season. The downsides were the train passing right behind the house and the slow, very unstable wifi.

The location works well for the price, with the seafront a good distance away, and I’ve stayed in two different apartments here over the years. Both were incredibly clean and had everything from a fridge with water waiting inside to air conditioning, a TV, and a hair dryer. Free bikes are a nice bonus, and the little pool can feel quite cosy for a couple. Some apartments have an outdoor cooker and some don’t. Daniela at reception is always ready to help, any time you need her. I also loved seeing the staff provide food and shelter for the harmless stray cats wandering around. Cala Grande is one of my favourite places to stay in Cefalù.

The beach is close if you walk down through the valley, and there are chairs, a table and a grill outside. The apartments are roomy and cosy, and you can borrow bikes for free. Just be aware that the train passes near the residence and can be a bit noisy.

The walk was fine with me, especially since the route along the sea had such lovely views. It's a little way from the centre, but the people here were kind and helpful, and I had a really pleasant stay. I'd recommend it.

I couldn't wait to get home and feed my cat. They wouldn't let us feed the hungry, scruffy cats or bring them into the room, so if you're a cat person, I wouldn't recommend staying here. The room felt like a psych ward, with a mattress and pillows that were both too firm. The pool looked really dirty when we arrived, and the square toilet seats were uncomfortable. The shower heads seemed kind of gross, too. I also cut myself on a bit of metal sticking out from the ring connecting the two key cards when I was trying to open the door, and started bleeding.
