That little side note ended up being special: we got a copy of our relative’s birth certificate. We’d come to Cerami to look into a family member born there in the late 1800s, and ended up falling for the village, the home, and our host. Salvotore picked us up from the parking area and, through the next day, shared his humor, hospitality, and knowledge of his hometown. The home was just as described, comfortable and beautiful, with lots of attention to detail. This experience alone nearly makes a trip to Sicily worthwhile.

The house sits high above town, and Salvatore renovated it himself. You can see the care in the details. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and felt like a real break from the busier parts of Sicily. More than anything, Salvatore made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, like we were visiting a friend. His warmth made our stay in Cerami one of the most memorable on the island.

The highlight for us was Salvatore Pirello. From the warm welcome to breakfast together, he went out of his way to make the stay special. His charm, cleanliness, and attention to detail left a lasting impression on me, and I’m truly grateful. Casa del tempo feels like stepping into another world. It’s high above the town, with beautiful views, astonishing ceilings, and an enchanting, carefully detailed atmosphere. The historic setting beside the ruins of an ancient castle, accessible only from this bnb, made it feel even more distinctive. Cerami during the St Sebastian festival was an amazing, authentic experience, with activities over three days, August 26-28 each year. We highly recommend visiting then.

Breakfast on one of the house’s terraces was a delight, thoughtfully prepared by Salvatore and Mariella with such care and passion. Salvatore was extremely kind, and Mariella’s steady attentiveness meant a lot to us. The hosts were simply great. The house is really lovely, cosy, and has a unique, original style. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting an immersive stay in a beautiful, typically Sicilian setting.
