The setting is fantastic, with lovely rooms, a nice view, and a great pool. Staff were friendly, though I wish they'd been more helpful. By 9am the hot breakfast food had gone cold, and the main stairwell was dirty. The scruffy notices taped up around the lobby made the place feel cheap. More care with these small details could make the hotel feel really special.

Our local association has held its private banquet here for more than 50 people every year for 15 years. The service was very good, and we enjoyed a generous lunch of many typical Italian dishes. The food was great, and I especially liked the strawberry tiramisù.

The location was great, but the condition of the place wasn't. There were big cracks in the walls just outside my room, and both inside and outside needed painting. Scaffolding stood right outside the bathroom window. We'd lock it, then come back to find it open onto the scaffolding. The window-box plants were dead, and the hot tub wasn't in use. Staff also didn't want us using the pool, saying the season was over even though it was warm and guests were still there. The beds and food were just okay.

The harbor location was fabulous, breakfast was excellent, and parking was good. Reception staff were positive and helpful. The AC in our room either didn't work or had very little effect, and the breakfast room could use some refurbishment.

The hotel has a nice traditional feel, and the staff were very friendly. Our room and the pool were both nice, and we enjoyed the stay a lot. It was quiet when we were there, so the bar felt a little short on atmosphere, but we had a good time all the same.
