Club Hotel Dante

The beach and its service, along with the hotel's location, were the best parts for me. Food was really the highlight: lunches and dinners were a great experience every day. Breakfast had the same selection each day, but it was entirely enough. During the day, the all inclusive drinks at the bars were basically sufficient, although I’d add at least one wine to the soft drinks and beer. We appreciated having parking in front or in the covered underground garage, and communication in English was no problem. The hotel was pleasant, but it’s debatable whether it deserves 4 stars. The small rooms and older equipment take away from the impression, though on a sunny day you spend less time indoors. Overall, we had a good stay and would come back if the chance came up.

At Club Dante, the food was delicious, with different choices for lunch and dinner each day, and the wine was perfect. The staff were very helpful and the service was five stars. Thanks to everyone at Club Dante for a great stay. I’d come back whenever I can.

The pool area and beach are nice, and the restaurant is pretty good, with lunch and dinner that were fair enough. The hotel itself is pleasant, but that's about it. Google calls it 4 star, though it felt more like 3. The rooms are small and old. We requested a double bed, but they just pushed two single beds together. The spa has massage treatments at a reasonable price, but the treatment was poor, it didn’t feel like a massage. Things around here may be simpler, like in the old days. This is an old school hotel, so be ready for that.

The restaurant was the one good part of my six-night stay. Mrs. Michela seemed to care about her work and understood what guests needed, which made breakfast and dinner enjoyable, although the buffet food was only mediocre. Check-out also went well thanks to the professional night receptionist. Check-in was a bad experience. There were more than five people behind the reception desk, but they didn’t seem to have hospitality experience or the right attitude for the job. I asked for an iron and board and they refused, saying it was the strangest request they’d ever heard. Their communication was poor, they didn’t smile, and it was hard to get eye contact because they stayed focused on their screens. They didn’t even stand up while speaking with guests. Housekeeping was poor throughout the stay. They changed towels and made the bed, but didn’t change the sheets, dust the tables, or properly clean the floor and bathroom. That surface level cleaning left hygiene concerns. The hotel also felt old, smelly and damp, and the service wasn’t worth the money. It seemed to lack management oversight or care for the guest experience, and to be run by people without a hospitality background. The facts of the hotel didn’t match the website photos. Despite its 4 star rating on paper, its performance felt like a negative 4 star rating. I strongly advise potential guests to avoid this hotel in Cervia.
