Hotel Canoa

The biggest problems were the lack of flexibility at breakfast and an unexpected charge at checkout. I asked politely if I could enter the breakfast room a few minutes before 8 because of urgent work commitments, but a young woman at the front desk flatly refused. I ended up missing breakfast throughout my stay. I expected more consideration and professionalism from the people representing the hotel. I was also told parking for one day would be free, but at checkout I was charged for parking, a beach umbrella and the tourist tax. That change in what had been agreed, and the lack of clear information, isn’t acceptable. There were other signs of poor attention: when I checked in Tuesday for my stay through Saturday with a group, I found a dirty wastebasket in the room. I’d also booked three quadruple rooms and one double, bringing substantial business to the hotel. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so service and staff training can improve.

The room was clean and looked after when we arrived, and otherwise things were acceptable. Still, I kept finding sand in the room because it wasn’t made up every day. The bathroom door and a few other spots had what looked like foundation from the previous guest. For three people staying three days, there were only two soap sachets. The front door was left open all the time, so mosquitoes could get inside and into our room. I know it’s a B&B, but it could use some improvement.

I had a lovely time here during an Erasmus+ exchange. The hotel is close to the sea, with comfortable beds and very good food. I’d recommend it.

The place was exceptionally clean, and breakfast was generous with homemade cakes. Beatrice, the girl at the counter, was lovely, kind and patient. Her warm manner felt like a perfect example of Romagna hospitality. A really excellent experience!
