Hotel Moderno

The rooms were clean and well kept, though on the small side, especially if you have lots of luggage or are staying a while. I was lucky enough to get one facing the sea, with a great balcony. Hotel Moderno is well placed for getting to attractions, shops, restaurants, and transportation, so it worked well as a base for exploring the city. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive, quick to help with questions or more involved requests. Their local knowledge was useful too, with good suggestions for places to visit and eat. I found the stay comfortable and charming, with a few minor drawbacks. It's a solid option if you're after a contemporary hotel in a convenient location. The good points outweighed the issues, and I'd consider staying again.

The breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were clean, though quite small, especially for families. The location is great, right by the beach, near the pedestrian zone, and very close to the historic center. There are a few paid parking spaces. Service could be better, particularly when it comes to giving foreign guests complete information about extra-cost services such as an iron and beach facilities.

We could hear noise from all around the building. At 1 a.m., a large family kept making noise for a long time, and early in the morning we could hear the cleaner at work. After a long sleepless night, check-out was at 10. The free beach is a 7-minute drive away.

The spa costs 20 euros per person per day, and I thought it was totally worth it. There are two Turkish baths, one regular and one aromatic, plus three different saunas. One pool is 10 meters long, and another smaller one has massage jets and space for children to play. Comfortable beds around them have electrically adjustable armrests for relaxing. The place has a very high-quality feel and lots of style, though parts of it are showing their age. The rooms and other areas were always clean. The hotel bar prices were unfortunately very high, over 6 euros for a beer.
