Hotel Vela

The rooms were spacious, pleasant, and kept clean during our five-day stay. But the meals were a letdown, especially the poor breakfast. We had to leave one day early for urgent work, and the hotel offered little cooperation: they would still charge almost the full amount, taking off just 30 euros and nothing for the meals we missed. We won't go back, and I can't recommend it.

The location and how everything is arranged made things easy, and the food was consistently excellent. The management and staff were fantastic throughout. We had a really positive stay at a remarkable hotel. Many thanks, we'd recommend it to anyone.

Breakfast was another letdown, with limited choice and quality that didn't match the price. During my first night at Hotel Vela in Milano Marittima, I found lots of hair on opening the sheets, along with clear yellow stains and black marks. At €200 a night, that level of cleanliness is unacceptable. When I raised it, there was no apology. The manager tried to explain it away instead of taking responsibility, and the housekeeper was aggressive and unprofessional. I won't stay here again, and strongly advise anyone who values cleanliness, courtesy, and basic professionalism to avoid it.

The staff were very friendly, and being able to use the pool all day was a nice plus. The location is excellent, close to Paapete and the center. The food could use some improvement, but we still had a pleasant stay. I'd give it 4.5/5.
