Hotel Ben Hur Beach & Breakfast

We came in early June with our baby and cat, and the hotel was very pet-friendly and centrally located. Thanks to everyone at reception, housekeeping and breakfast for being so helpful and friendly. A special thank you to Marcello, who we spoke with the most. We'd love to return.

The best part of our stay was the staff, especially the women who work there. They were very kind and did their best, even though the management was terrible. The building feels more like a very dated guesthouse than a hotel. The sensor is old and keeps jamming, and in our triple room there was only one outlet for charging phones. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The breakfast was especially disappointing: the counter was empty even at 8 in the morning, and we even had to ask for water. I raised this with the owner right away, but nothing changed. I don't recommend it.

The reception staff were reasonably courteous, but I can't think of anything else positive. The breakfast was meager, both in sweet and savory options. I found only cooked ham and fontina cheese. The room was tiny for three of us and a pet, with barely enough space to move around. Room cleaning was awful. The same staff serving breakfast started cleaning rooms after 10:00, and on two of our five days I couldn't get to the beach early. I even turned down cleaning to avoid waiting. When they did clean, it was rushed and poorly done. I wouldn't recommend the hotel, and I'll rule it out for any future holiday.

The elevator is old and noisy, and both the rooms and bathroom feel cramped. Every evening, some young guests played loud music and acted intimately late into the night, disturbing everyone else's peace. I wouldn't recommend staying here. For a short or long break where you want quiet and relaxation, I'd pick another hotel.
