Hotel Imperiale

We were the only visitors from the UK, with most guests Italian and some German. It’s a lovely family-run place, and it seems plenty of people come back year after year. The hosts know the hotel business and speak several languages. They picked us up at the Romanagna Shuttle Service and took us back there on our last morning. Our room rate included sunbeds and a parasol, and the beach is only about a 2-3 minute walk away. The sea stays shallow as far as the distant groynes, so it’s safe for swimming. Meals were generous and really good, with traditional pasta and seafood, and it was hard to say no when another plate was offered. The hotel was clean and friendly. There’s a bar open all day and night, plus plenty of cafes, bars and shops along the promenade. Walkers can head towards the Old Port, or carry on a bit farther to a large shopping center.

We’ve made this our regular place for the Nove Colli, and this was our fourth year in a row, staying three nights. The welcome is friendly every time, and the service is excellent as always. Angelika and Adamo, the owners, are still our first choice around here.

We only had four days with our under-14 basketball team at Este, but we had a great time. The beach was an easy walk away, and the owners were kind, helpful, and attentive to everyone. Our spacious rooms were spotless, and the meals were plentiful and delicious, including options for the children with celiac disease. The kitchen also worked around our game schedules. Thank you!
