A TERRIBLE hotel. The good: the room cleaner and receptionists were polite and nice. There’s also the chance to get skinny, since breakfast barely offers anything. The bad: The hotel photos are fake, stolen from another place, because they don’t want to show what this one is really like. For breakfast there was only crunchy bread, two or three cheap sweets, and sweet yogurt. There’s no microwave, kettle, or fridge anywhere. The coffee machine tastes like sewer water, and even the milk is 80% water. We had no hot water, the service was rude sometimes, and parking costs an extra €10. It feels like throwing your money away and getting nothing, not even clean water that doesn’t taste like it came from the sewer. The only thing you get here is anorexia.

The one person I’m grateful to is the receptionist who acted quickly after I reported the lack of hot water, and the cleaner, who tried to keep everything in the room neat and clean. The hot water came back by evening the next day. Most of the rest of our two days here were deeply disappointing. We booked through Mirabilandia’s official website, since the park offers this place to visitors. I think that reflects badly on Mirabilandia’s reputation, especially with the problems the park already has. The hotel website’s food photos were misleading too, showing lovely dishes from another hotel in another region. What was actually offered was a very poor, cheap breakfast: a croissant, yogurt, and two or three desserts. For a place calling itself a three-star hotel and a B&B, I expected at least some basic food like boiled eggs, cheese, or cold cuts. There was nothing nutritious, and the breakfast hardly counted as one. We were shocked to find no kettle or microwave in the kitchen. If they can’t provide a proper breakfast, guests should at least be able to heat supermarket food and boil decent water. On arrival, there was no hot water either, despite the listing saying there would be. The receptionist who helped with that was responsive, and I’m grateful to her. Service in the dining room was also poor. The attendant was impolite, tables were dirty and not cleaned in time, and ours had only a room number on it, without cutlery or napkins. When I complained about the standard of service, the waiter just said “Belissimo.” He didn’t apologize or explain. I felt he resented the comment and thought it was fine to serve guests like that. It says a lot about how the hotel values its reputation and staff responsibility. After 10 pm there was no receptionist or security guard, so there was nobody to ask for help in an emergency. That doesn’t seem acceptable for a three-star hotel. The receptionist also didn’t speak international English, which made me wonder how staff are chosen when guests come from different countries. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Calling itself three-star doesn’t bring it anywhere close to one star for service or European hotel standards. It felt more like basic accommodation than a hotel or guesthouse.

The room was clean, had new windows, and came with a small balcony. We stayed two nights as a family in a quadruple room. I’d booked before reading the reviews, so I arrived expecting the worst, but ended up changing my mind. The reception staff were friendly, there’s a bar, and the location is great. It’s on par with other three-star hotels in the area, maybe even a little better. There’s no kitchen, and reception explains that cleaning is every other day. Parking costs €10 and isn’t guaranteed, as they tell you, but we found a space nearby without much trouble, even over the June 2nd long weekend. Everything is just a short walk away, and the partner beach is top-notch. Well done!

The room for three was so tiny we could barely move. It wasn’t cleaned very well when we arrived, and housekeeping only comes every other day. They just change the towels, leaving the floors, beds, bathroom, and the rest as they are. For the price, they should pay a lot more attention. The location is the clear upside, with public and private beaches, attractions, and different parks only minutes away.
