Albergo Martini

The place has a lot of potential to become a great hotel again, which is why I’m leaving this review in the hope it helps. We booked one night through Booking, but were put in a different room from the one in the offer, and there hadn’t been a photo of the room we got. I don’t mind that the hotel is old, since the hotels in this area are old too. The dirt was the problem. I’m attaching photos of spots the staff should pay more attention to when cleaning, and the walls need refreshing as well. If old dust and dirty walls don’t bother you, you can book here.

We booked half board, and the homemade Italian dinner was delicious. The cakes and biscuits they make themselves were tasty too. It’s a family-run hotel, and Mr. Martini was such a friendly, helpful host. His English is limited, but he was always ready to answer questions, calling his English-speaking daughter or using Google Translate to make things easier for us. We’d love to return just to see this lovely family again.

A handy place for a night, with the essentials in the room: a TV, cupboard, desk, and a bathroom with a hand basin, bidet, and toilet. The shower hose can stay fixed or be taken down to use by hand, which worked for the children. We got three towels for the triple room even though there were four of us with the little ones, which was confusing. Extra towels and linen are available for a fee. We were on the fourth floor, so next time with kids I’d ask for a lower floor. There’s a balcony with a partial view of town. The room was warm when we came just before spring began. Breakfast was included, with tea, coffee, cake, yogurt, cereal, salami, prosciutto cotto, cheese, and a small amount of fruit. The location is great, about an eight-minute drive to the thermal pool. There’s also a fantastic sushi place two minutes from the Albergo. The bar stays open until midnight, useful if small kids need milk before bed, and checkout can be just before noon.

The staff were okay and the place does the job, I guess. It’s very old and not at all nice to look at. There are two flights of stairs to get into the hotel, so don’t bring heavy luggage. The area is pretty much a ghost town, literally.
