The new room had a drawer full of rubbish from previous guests, pillows that looked moldy, and a dusty, dirty bedside phone. There was dust along the top of the bathroom door frame, visible from inside the room. The TV remote, bedside tables, shower mat, and bathroom cup were filthy. The cup looked as if earlier guests had used it without it being washed. The carpet was old, and the showerhead was clogged with calcium buildup. The first room had long black hairs all over the bathroom. We reported it at reception, and a woman with a cold manner moved us without arguing. To be fair, she did give us a new room, though the lack of argument made me think this must happen a lot. The new bathroom itself wasn’t dirty, but the rest of the room was. The stay was deeply uncomfortable. I felt dirtier leaving than arriving, especially since I didn’t want to use that disgusting shower. Breakfast was acceptable, with a wider range of cakes and sweets, the standard Italian breakfast. At checkout the receptionist was still rather rude, or at least extremely interested in us. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn’t want to sleep or stay in filth.

We arrived after a long drive, in the middle of the night, around 11 pm. The person who greeted us was humble and welcoming, which made a great first impression. Staying at an authentic hotel like Grand Hotel Milano was an amazing experience, and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the area.

The owners, Giampaolo and Elena, were especially attentive and friendly. The staff all gave impeccable service, and the hotel was excellent, with a very convenient location. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of local produce, and the rooms were clean and nicely furnished. I really couldn’t find any faults. Truly a four-star grand hotel.

The building has plenty of age to it, and the staff are really helpful, doing their best to make guests happy. Breakfast was very good, and the location is good too. Simple, and great value for the money.
