The food deserves 5/5, while the rooms get 3/5. The price is fair for the conditions.

I could hear my neighbours' phones vibrating through the walls, since the rooms have no soundproofing. The shower water was cold, and housekeeping was intrusive: around 9:30 in the morning I told them the room was occupied, but they still tried the key. They returned just 10 minutes later. Reception was often empty or staffed by people who seemed incompetent, such as the owner's friends. Stefano, the owner, didn't remember my booking and charged me more than the total, rounding the bill up. That felt undeserved and far from professional. The most absurd moment was hearing his father shout “Stefanooo” all around the building while searching for his son, who'd gone out on an errand.

At New Year's, there weren't any alternatives, so we ended up paying the hefty 100 euros a night for this so-called 3-star hotel. The manager, perhaps seeing how bad things were, offered us another place under the same terms, and that hotel was obviously better, though that wasn't hard. Apparently this was a 30 euro-a-night kind of place. Still, the bare minimum of cleanliness and decent furnishings should have been there, and they weren't. The rooms were dirty and outdated, barely habitable, with damp, rotten, peeling walls and plaster. There was no hot water. The owner's explanation for swapping us into a room without heating was absurd, just another bad situation on top of the first. I've never seen a worse hotel, and I don't know why the NAS hasn't stepped in.

I picked this place because it was affordable, but even as just somewhere to sleep, I can't recommend it. Given another chance, I'd risk going elsewhere. The room was extremely basic: camp beds, mattresses with springs sticking out, loose floor tiles that tilted, creaky doors, and a TV with only seven channels, two of them silent. Breakfast was adequate but didn't satisfy. One thing to know at checkout, reception isn't always staffed because the employees, or whoever is on duty, are shared with another hotel. I had to call and wait for the manager to arrive so I could pay.

The breakfast buffet was a dream, with nothing missing. The hotel itself is lovely, full of charm, and the rooms are really pleasant. The team is warm, helpful, and welcoming, and the location is excellent.
