Casa Aurora B&B

For €70 a night, I expected a better stay. The property is conveniently placed for getting around, and check-in is automated, with a phone call to the owner. Our room was a decent size and clean, but not spotless: there was limescale and uncleared staining on the fixtures, particularly in the bathroom. Nothing huge, but there was no minibar, the shower mat was out of place, the bed creaked, and the soundproofing was very poor. Breakfast downstairs at the café is coffee and a croissant, frozen ones, though that isn't the property's fault.

The location is the one good part of my stay at Casa Aurora. Everything else could have been much better. Customer service was poor, and I had to call the owner three times to get a courtesy set. The room was dusty and unpresentable, with bedspreads that smelled and had stains. I pay to stay here, so the bed should at least be clean. There were no mosquito nets, and I found the price too high for what was provided. For a slightly lower price elsewhere, I had a kitchen, a refrigerator, and air conditioning, all essential in summer. My room here at Casa Aurora had no air conditioning.

I really don't think I'll return. Finding the room key turned into a treasure hunt, all handled over the phone because the owner never showed up. The room was new and large, but there was no hairdryer or toiletries in the bathroom, and the toilet paper was the same one left by the previous guest. Noise from inside the building carried into the room and woke me at 8:00 AM on Sunday, though the street itself was quiet. I asked if I could check out later, but was refused so the room could be sanitized and someone could check in at noon, even though check-in starts at 4:00 PM. The breakfast vouchers included in my booking price weren't there either.

The place was nice and clean when we arrived, but they didn't clean it again during the rest of our stay. There was no fridge or coffee maker, although both had been listed. Bathroom amenities were there on the first day, but not the second. For a B&B, I expected breakfast and a welcome, but breakfast wasn't provided and there was no welcome at all. The owner wasn't helpful. I wouldn't stay here again.
