Palazzina del sole

The apartment was cozy and quiet, close to the beach, a shop, a cafe, and the bus stop. We spent two wonderful weeks here, and it was very clean. The owners, Claudia and Susi, are lovely people who are always ready to help with anything. We’re dreaming of coming back next year with our friends.

The garden and kids’ playground were lovely, and the covered parking was a real bonus. We found the apartment clean and well looked after, with Claudia doing her best to help with what we needed. It’s a manageable walk to the center and fairly near the sea. We had a really positive stay and would recommend it. One small convenience for shorter visits like ours: it would be nice to have the option of paying extra for sheets and linens.

Getting around was a hassle because the place is so far out that even a walk downtown pretty much requires a car. The apartment itself had a double bed and a bunk, but the bunk ladder blocked the way through the bedroom. I can only imagine how cramped it would be for a couple with two teenage kids sharing that room. Parking was just as awkward, with spaces so tight that I had to call the driver behind me whenever I needed to get out. The push-to-open gate was electric but apparently not working, and had to stay shut, so I wondered how easily it might slide on the motor rack. The only convenience I can point to is the air conditioning. I’m not hard to please, but there wasn’t even an armchair or sofa, and when I raised it with the owner she acted like I’d asked for something ridiculous. The windowless bathroom didn’t even have a light in the shower, so washing was in the dark. The closet door nearly fell on me the first time I opened it, though they did fix it later. I definitely wouldn’t repeat the experience.

We’ve come back for a second year and are just as happy with the place. It’s in a quiet, well-served neighborhood, with the sea only a two-minute walk away, and nights are quiet too. Families have plenty here: the apartments are spotless, modern and equipped with what you need, while the fenced garden has toys for kids and tables and sofas for adults. Covered parking is another nice extra. The owners are dependable, kind and helpful. I absolutely recommend it.
