The apartments are clean and beautifully finished, set in stone houses, with a pool and a garden full of flowers. Mrs. Flora and her family live on the property and keep everything well maintained. It’s a lovely little hamlet with an intimate, cared-for feel that reminded me of the village stories my grandmother used to tell. Close to Casentino Forest National Park and the La Verna sanctuary, where St. Francis worked, it’s also surrounded by hermitages, monasteries, walking trails, and wonderful views. A stay here feels restorative, with a lot of positive energy.

The stone houses make a beautiful base for exploring the Casentino forests and nearby towns like Bibbiena, Poppi, and Stia, as well as Arezzo. La Verna and Camaldoli are also not far away. The area has medieval villages and little restaurants serving local food and good wine. Flora and Angiolino are lovely hosts, and the apartments are attractive, well equipped, and have a lovely pool. If you want real peace and quiet, this is a great place to stay. I highly recommend it.

The poolside is a great spot to unwind after a day out exploring. The place itself is beautiful and peaceful, and Mrs. Flora is full of energy despite her age. It’s a highly recommended choice for visiting La Verna or just spending a few quiet, cool days in the Apennines.

The owners are so kind, especially Mrs. Flora. The place is enchanting, and the panoramic pool is lovely for both younger guests and children. There are also worthwhile art sites and shrines nearby, including La Verna and the Madonna del Soccorso in Bibbiena.

The owners’ warmth and hospitality make this a wonderful base in the heart of Casentino. From here, it’s easy to link visits to sacred places like La Verna and Camaldoli with mountain walks and outdoor adventures. The scenery, lush and almost Dante-like or Michelangelo-esque, sits between Tuscany, Umbria, and Romagna, and the local food is wonderfully authentic and hearty. Agriturismo Flora in Chiusi della Verna feels timeless and hard to beat. Highly recommended! The Ferrara family
