Being able to ski straight out from the front door and back again was a huge plus, so we spent less time clomping around in ski boots. The refugio sits in a little forest across the valley from the pretty town of Claviere, and the surroundings are lovely. The staff were warm, helpful, and so welcoming, and they kept our two little ones, aged 2 and 4, laughing. Meals were superb, with generous portions to keep us going through the day's outdoor activities. This is the loveliest refugio I've stayed in, and I can't think of a better spot for a family mountain holiday.

Federico and Mauro deserve a lot of credit for how helpful and welcoming they are. The refuge is simple but has what you need, and it feels like a real treat. It's right among the slopes but also close to the road and several restaurants. You can walk there with a short uphill climb too, and if I managed it, anyone can. I had dinner here and the food was excellent. I'll be back!

The location is fantastic, and the staff were always welcoming and ready to help. I can't eat gluten, and they provided gluten-free meals at both dinner and breakfast. Dinner was generous and good quality. Highly recommended.

Marco says the days here have a friendly, convivial feel, with excellent cooking from Alice and her very helpful staff, who are lovely people. Francesca calls it a magical place in the mountains of Claviere, where you feel at home and can head out on skis. Federico, aged 7, says it was a fantastic holiday with wonderful service, and that they've been coming for 4 years.
