Hotel Tabladel

We went back four or five times during our week in Colfosco, and after the first meal they even had a table that felt like “ours.” The staff were friendly and really professional, even when we ran into them around the village off duty. The pizza was magnificent, and I’ve never had a better carpaccio. The beef was incredible too.

The food was a real highlight, especially the fresh, homemade four-course tasting menu the chef prepares once a week for hotel guests. Breakfast was enough for us, though I would have liked a few more choices; we visited in the off-season and the hotel was fairly quiet. The recently renovated hotel feels modern and well equipped, with clean, comfortable rooms and very helpful staff. Dogs are welcome in summer for a small fee. There’s a wellness area, but we didn’t try it, so I can’t comment on that. I’d give it 5/5, you won’t be disappointed.

I’m not usually much of a pizza person, but you have to try it here. The crust is thin and airy, crunchy yet soft. We ate it so fast we didn’t even take a photo 😄😄😄.

On 22nd December 2022 I came in alone for a meal, but waited so long that I put my coat on to leave. Only then did the waiter come over. I ordered a beer and lasagne, and while I waited they brought a basket of stale bread that I left untouched. The first lasagne was cold in the middle and seemed clearly to have been reheated in a microwave. I mentioned it, and the replacement was overcooked and solid around the outside, yet still cold in one spot in the middle. The service was dreadful and the place was horrible, so I never went back. Everywhere else I went was nicer, save your money and go somewhere else. I also noticed a €2 charge as I was leaving. I need to find my receipt to see what it was for.
