Villa Sabolini

We spent four nights at Villa Sabolini, which is well placed for exploring the Tuscan countryside, about 30 minutes from Siena or Volterra and 20 minutes from San Gimignano. The staff were attentive and professional throughout. Breakfast is a must, with eggs, bacon, pastries, bread, cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, nut spreads and drinks. Our room had plenty of space, a very comfortable bed and a nice bathroom.

The pool looked lovely, but we were there in October, so we skipped it haha. We stayed three nights and had a great time. The hotel was beautiful, clean and well run, and both of our rooms were well appointed and serviced daily. They replenished the bottled water too, which isn't something many hotels in Italy seem to do. Everyone running the hotel was friendly and made us feel welcome with jokes and conversation, while still keeping things efficient. We ate at the restaurant on our second night and again on the last one because the food and service were so good. Breakfast was a buffet with a good choice of healthy items and some hot food. They also have gluten free bread at breakfast and dinner, plus gluten free pasta. We'd definitely stay again.

We spent three nights at Villa Sabolini in late September. It was peaceful and relaxing, with a fantastic location and some nice views, though we've seen more spectacular ones elsewhere in the area. The pool was nice too, and we managed a swim even as the weather was cooling down at the end of September. The restaurant was a highlight. I'd recommend the Degustazione menu and Abdul's suggestions. He did a great job putting together dishes for us, and Paul put a lot of effort into choosing wines we enjoyed.

The staff were what we appreciated most, especially the restaurant team, who were friendly and ready to help. The pleasant atmosphere and delicious food made us look forward to each meal. The hotel is also in a particularly beautiful, peaceful spot on top of a hill, with a large garden, pool, sun loungers and bar. One small suggestion: by the end of September, the pool water could be a little warmer. Maybe solar panels could help, since there's plenty of sun here.
