Bes Hotel La Muratella

That shower was fantastic, with loads of lovely hot water, and the room was comfortably warm. I did miss having an office chair, though. The place seems to have seen better days, but the standard was acceptable. Finding the gate took a bit of effort, but I managed in the end after spotting the hotel on Google Map when my first two choices were fully booked. The farming smell around the place was the main downside. Hopefully that was only seasonal. It wouldn't be my first choice, but it's a perfectly usable alternative, and I may well stay again.

I was left stranded with a flat tyre and struggled to communicate with the company in Milan that fitted it, a breakdown service, and another garage. The manager and staff gave me so much help with all of that, and never made me feel like I was taking up too much of their time. Special thanks to the receptionist, who spent ages helping me translate. The hotel itself is clean, tidy, well run, and good value. It also works really well for motorcycles, with plenty of secure parking. There's a large restaurant on site, or across the road there's a bar and restaurant with a really good steak and a nice selection of draft beers.

Our balcony looked out onto a lovely garden, and the location was great. Breakfast was good too. The building has some beautiful artistic details.

The location is pleasant and there's plenty of space, but the meals were disappointing. At breakfast, the coffee machine wasn't working properly. Lunch dragged on, the red wine arrived cold, and with dessert they brought dry wine instead of sweet.
