Altido Ama 18

We enjoyed staying at AMA18 again. This was our second visit, and the location was amazing, with everything close by. The man there was very kind and helped us get into our rooms early. We did find dirt under the bed and some old boxers, and had a few problems with the AC heating. Apart from those issues, it was a great stay.

We had breakfast every morning at the lovely Caffé&Bollicine, which was an excellent way to start the day. Our room also had a balcony, highly recommended for eating lunch, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, was quiet, and made it easy to set the temperature. The double bed was comfortable, the room was very clean, and when we needed fresh towels they arrived within an hour. There was a fridge, kettle, coffee machine, plus some plates, glasses, and cutlery. The hotel is near Como’s old town, the harbor, funicular, shops, and lots of cozy restaurants in the city center. Both train stations were about a 10-minute walk away, which made getting to and from the city easy. There’s no reception, but we received detailed check-in and check-out instructions by email or message, and got quick answers to our questions on WhatsApp. A key card let us enter at any hour, and there were cameras at the entrance and door for security. I’d highly recommend staying at AMA 18 in Como.

We had a very comfortable big bed, and communication with the host over WhatsApp was good. There’s a great cafe attached for breakfast, with really friendly staff.

A great place to stay, close to Como’s old historic center.
