Hotel Relais Le Betulle

The views, service, and kitchen were all amazing. It’s a fantastic hotel, and the outdoor pool must be great in the warm months. Highly recommended 👌🏻

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the views are beautiful. Getting into town means taking a taxi unless you have a car, but that’s okay. Wi-Fi comes and goes, and the mobile signal can be patchy too, though Vodafone worked okay. These are just local quirks, not hotel problems. There’s laundry service, but it isn’t same-day.

We spent three nights here and had a blast. The room was spacious, with a balcony looking over the pool and mountains, and the stay felt comfortable, easy, and relaxing. Breakfast was very tasty. We enjoyed reading and having cocktails by the outdoor pool, though it was a bit too chilly to swim. The front desk staff were super helpful, with lots of tips on getting to Venice and finding free parking. At 5 in the morning, a very pleasant guy made us coffee and tea before we set off. We heard there was Micheline cuisine but didn’t have time to try it, though the reviews looked amazing. It feels like a true four-star hotel, maybe even five. Highly recommended!

The hotel is very clean, with spacious rooms and great views, but an incident during our visit with a male staff member ruined the stay for my friend and me while we were visiting the Prosecco region. On our second day, we caught the maintenance man deliberately peering into our room from the balcony of the neighboring room. We were changing and naked at the time. It was a blatant invasion of privacy, startling and frightening, and we felt unsafe and afraid to leave our room. He knew which room we were in, as he had been loitering around it the day before. We reported it straight away at reception. Sara was extremely helpful, sympathetic, and apologetic. After checking out and paying our accommodation, bar, and restaurant bill in full, we filed a formal complaint. The hotel manager replied with a very general ‘excuse’, accused us of trying to blackmail and extort the hotel, and threatened to sue if we continued with the complaint. That response was deeply concerning and made me feel this might not have been a one-off situation. The hotel is lovely in many ways, but I’d caution young women traveling in Italy about booking here. No one should feel exposed and violated as my friend and I did, and it’s saddening that management didn’t take the situation seriously.
