Jubilee Hotel

Lunch here was a great experience. There isn't a huge choice on the menu, but everything they do serve is tasty, well cooked, and nicely presented. The staff are very friendly and courteous, prices are average, and I'd definitely recommend the place.

My parents ended up finding somewhere else to stay, fortunately there were other places free for the nights they needed. The check-in was the problem: they had agreed on 5:00 PM, but nobody came then. After several unanswered calls to the host, someone from the staff arrived around 5:30 and said check-in had to be completed by 3:00 PM. They'd booked through Booking.com after my mother was initially told by phone that the property wasn't available for those dates. I understood that the host might not have full visibility of online bookings, so we called a few days before arrival to confirm the reservation. It was confirmed, along with the 5:00 PM arrival time. The rooms are upstairs on the first floor, above a bar, which felt more like a hostel setup than a B&B. Professionalism matters in hospitality, and this booking and failed check-in were the opposite of what I experienced.

We had a really good pizza, and it was good value. The staff were very friendly too. The place has a bar, a wood-fired pizzeria and a restaurant, with a spacious interior and a lovely outdoor veranda. It's in a handy spot for coming into town without getting caught in the traffic.

The food, especially the pizza, is the only thing that brings this place to life. The management gets a very pitying look from me. Maybe they'd do better running a school or military cafeteria, because the manager seems to have no idea about courtesy or persistence. They should change jobs. I don't recommend it.
