Masseria kalandini

Our room had been beautifully renovated, with its own bathroom, and we loved having breakfast by the pool each morning. Ottavio & Silvia were so friendly and hospitable. Masseria Kalandini is a small, newly renovated B&B with a wonderful pool, set in the relaxing Puglese countryside. It’s still close to town and the beaches, and about equally close to both coastlines, so you can pick which one to explore. We loved our stay and will definitely visit again!

Breakfast in the garden by the pool came with local produce and fresh fruit, including delicious figs from the garden. The pool itself is a special sensory experience, set among olive trees and dry-stone walls under the clear Salento sky. Silvia and Ottavio bring so much warmth and hospitality that you feel connected to Puglia. The Masseria is brand-new, and its new furnishings are carefully maintained. The rooms and the rest of the property were impeccably clean. If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Salento, this is an extraordinary choice.

We were glad to find a basket of fresh fruit waiting in our room, and both the room and bathroom were very spacious. My husband and I stayed for two nights at the end of June. We’d been unsure because there were no reviews yet, but the photos looked promising. We picked the Scirocco room, which opens onto a charming, quiet courtyard. If I had to point out one flaw, sleep wasn’t guaranteed: Scirocco is the only room without shutters, and its blackout curtain lets a little light in at the sides. The room was very clean, and breakfast by the pool was plentiful and made with local products. Silvia and Ottavio were perfect hosts and suggested places to visit. The Masseria sits halfway between the Adriatic and Ionian coasts, with lots to see. I think we’ll come back. Lia and Michele

Take care when pulling out of the property, since it faces a main road where cars go by at high speed. Inside, the room overlooking the courtyard was peaceful and relaxing, and the pool was a lovely spot to unwind at the end of the day. The Masseria is right in the center of Salento, with the Ionian and Adriatic Seas about a 20-minute drive away, making it a handy base. It’s just been renovated, so everything is new and in perfect condition. The rooms have classic Salento style and all the comforts, with lovely refined bathroom products. Breakfast by the pool featured local and traditional Salento foods. Silvia and Ottavio were attentive and happy to help with any information.
