Michelangelo apartments

We couldn’t reliably get into or secure the apartment, and there was no response from the host. The online Vikey door opening didn’t work, and the door codes we were sent were wrong. An automated message directed us to apartment 1, but it was occupied. A strange man had passwords for all the apartments. He opened number 1 first, where there were guests, then opened number 4, which was empty, and let us in. The door password he gave us turned out to be wrong. That morning we took all our belongings to the car because we couldn’t lock the door. When we returned, it was still unlocked. The next morning we packed everything again. I saw the man with the passwords, but he wouldn’t give me the correct code and told me to contact the host. I had no way to reach the host, no phone number and no replies to messages. On our last day we came back early, and other people were having trouble getting in too. Our apartment was still open. Those people then tried to enter every apartment, and after lots of phone calls they somehow got into one. Around midnight, another man arrived with the one who had the passwords. They rang the apartments and tried to get into them, including ours, but we didn’t open the door. We finally left that nightmare. The sheets and towels weren’t clean. Don’t go there. Never.

We didn’t care about the price as much as the poor service and the way the host responded and looked after guests. That was completely unacceptable. We paid €210 for four nights, with a late check-in and a 10 a.m. check-out, and the stay was a nightmare. I rarely leave bad reviews, despite having travelled to many countries, but this place was awful. We arrived at 6 p.m. on July 7 after an exhausting eight-hour drive from Germany and were hoping to rest. The website self-check-in was so complicated that opening the gate and room was difficult. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone without 4G or 5G internet. The accommodation also looked nothing like the photos or booking description. The room clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. There was old, moldy fruit under the bed, plus dust and hair across the floor. The shower tap barely worked, with such a weak flow that we couldn’t shower at all between arriving at 6 p.m. on July 7 and 9:50 a.m. on July 8. There were no duvets, though luckily we had our own in the car. A strange peephole in the outside of the door made us feel watched and unsafe. We tried more than ten times to contact the host and got no reply. I eventually texted the host the last photo; that was all they responded to. I don’t understand Italian, but I guess the translation says I’d made everything up.

The online check-in system is shady and unreliable. Total garbage, stay away.
