Ancora Cortina

Our stay at Ancora was wonderful, and its location just steps from the Faloria gondola made things easy. The ski rental shop partnership helped make the whole trip feel seamless. The rooms were beautifully maintained, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was lively but still refined. What stood out most was how the staff supported us after my friend tore his ACL. They arranged rides to and from the hospital and mountain, and even returned our skis. They handled a stressful situation with care and efficiency. We couldn’t have asked for better hospitality.

The dishes were all prepared beautifully, and the wine list was really interesting. I liked the hospitality too. The menu isn’t centered on local specialties, so it may feel broad to someone looking for traditional local food, but it gives you a pan-Italian experience with dishes from different regions. I visited Hotel Ancora for dinner at its fine dining restaurant this January. Executive Chef Andrea Chivetto leads the kitchen and brings impressive international experience. The hotel is on the main square in the city center and had opened just a month earlier. It’s owned by Renzo Rosso, founder of Diesel, and managed by the Borgo Egnazia team, known for its luxury resort in Puglia.

The staff made us feel at home, always welcoming, cheerful, and ready to help. Our room was spotless and comfortable, just right for relaxing after a long day. Hotel Ancora also looked even better in person than online, which was a lovely surprise. The location is beautiful and convenient for exploring the area. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a stay that turns out even better than expected. Can’t wait to return!

The views and the whole experience were really beautiful. Everyone providing the service was so nice, stylish, and dressed in black. We enjoyed the Margherita pizza and tomato pasta, though prices are high: tea is €14 and pizza is €20.
