Bed and Breakfast Caldara

The spa was great, the mountain view was breathtaking, and the room was beautiful. The staff were 10/10, and my dog was treated well. The extra bed in the room was small. I had a wonderful stay and really want to come back. I appreciated finding water and chocolate in our cleaned room after dinner. But the restaurant and bar checks were handed to the man at our table, and the next-day weather card was also addressed to him, even though he wasn't the only one arranging or paying for the trip. It would feel more respectful if checks were placed in the middle of the table. Men aren't the only providers these days.

The breakfast had plenty of yogurt, meats, cheeses, breads, and some dishes you could order, though it was good rather than extraordinary. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from downtown, with a free shuttle if you prefer. During our Italy trip, this was the only hotel with a proper gym, including machines and weights. Service and attention to guests were excellent, and our room was clean, spacious, with a breathtaking view. There’s no A/C, but fans or heaters are available if you ask. The facilities felt dated, though timeless. Self-parking outside should be free.

Giovanni really helped when the airline courier finally brought my delayed luggage. We weren't there for the delivery, and he texted to check that the first bag they were leaving wasn't mine. He sorted it out and sent me a photo of my luggage. I was so relieved. Our room was comfortable, with a fabulous view from the window. The outdoor hot tub has a killer view, and the indoor pool and hot tub are lovely too. The shuttle into town was convenient. We had a wonderful stay at the Cristallo and one of the best meals of our trip. We'd definitely stay again.

We spent five days here in June, and the staff made it memorable by taking care with every detail, from reception and the concierge to valet parking and restaurant service. The restaurant stood out especially, with distinctive food, great wine, and a team that looked after us. The hotel is well placed for hiking in the mountains, and we recommend the Spa too. Everyone was very friendly. We'll definitely come back.
