The rooms felt outdated and smelled unpleasant, with very uncomfortable beds and pillows. There was no bathroom heating, even though the temperature dropped to -11 at night. Noise was another problem: loud guests in the evening, then sounds from other rooms coming straight through the thin walls overnight. There was also a building site outside. The hotel is five minutes by car from the city centre, but getting to the room was difficult because there’s no lift and the stairs are very narrow. At arrival, the receptionist stayed seated, pointed toward the rooms and breakfast room, and didn’t offer to show us the way or help with luggage. Reception is only available at certain times. Breakfast was poor, and the staff seemed unprepared when it came to hospitality.

The food was very good, at least the gnocchi and the very large portion of mousse di ricotta that I ordered. The wine was good too. Service, though, needs work. We asked for a bottle of water three times before it arrived, and other tables had the same problem, so it wasn’t just us. Things felt disorganized, and the waiters couldn’t really explain or recommend dishes, which is a shame with such an interesting menu. Dogs aren’t allowed inside, only on the outdoor terrace.

Breakfast was nice, but I think guests should be able to serve themselves. I don’t buy the hygiene argument, utensils are a great thing. The rooms were cozy and had a nice view, though the construction site next door and the main road weren’t ideal. It’s a long walk to town, and the small stairs are difficult with luggage. The restaurant food was about average, with small portions at twice the price of other places we found. The owner may be a little out of touch with the competition.

The service fee is 5€, which feels exceptionally high for this kind of restaurant. The bread portion was fairly big, but the pieces were hard and dry. Roasted potatoes cost 6€, came in a very small portion, and took about 20 minutes to arrive. Why?!! High prices, small portions, and a long wait. We don’t recommend eating here.
